1	AIG Group of Insurance Companies While there has been a lot of concern about AIG and the financial crisis, they are still often the best market for many types of businesses. They have many special programs and enormous capacity.
2	California Insurance Group CIG is a smaller, regional insurance company that is very competitive within certain market niches, particularly personal insurance, apartments, homeowners associations, restaurants and “main street” businesses.
3	Chubb Group of Insurance Companies Chubb has always been considered a preferred company. They offer very broad coverage and have an excellent reputation for claims service.
4	First Comp First Comp provides workers’ compensation coverage for small to medium sized businesses. They are often willing to write contractors and new ventures, making them an excellent alternative to the State Compensation Insurance Fund.
5	Great American Insurance Company Great American has many different niches. We use them for property coverage where they can offer some great products for “course of construction”, building, property and equipment floaters.
6	The Hartford Insurance Company The Hartford is a huge and diverse insurance company. They write personal lines, small, medium and large business coverage. They are known for being flexible and have broad coverage forms that lead the industry.
7	Philadelphia Insurance Company Philadelphia is a national carrier that was recently acquired by Tokyo Fire and Marine, making them part of the 13th largest insurance company in the world. They are an excellent market for non-profit organizations, professional liability, property, directors and officers. They are expanding into new areas all the time.
8	Progressive Insurance Progressive offers competitively priced vehicle insurance for businesses and individuals. They are highly automated and efficient and can handle most situations.
9	Republic Indemnity Republic Indemnity specializes in workers’ compensation. They are a part of the Great American Group of companies offering competitive rates and great service to important workers’ compensation niches.
10	Safeco Insurance Company Safeco has long had an excellent reputation for service and efficiency. We use them for their excellent personal lines coverage (automobile, homeowners and related products).
11	State Compensation Insurance Fund The State Fund is the largest writer of workers’ compensation in California. Often they are the best place for new businesses and offer many special programs and safety groups.
12	The Travelers Insurance Company The Travelers umbrella is a world famous icon symbolizing the many lines of coverage they write and the broad coverage they provide. They are industry leaders in many lines of insurance.
