Insurance must be competitively priced and cover your exposures. Moreover, we want you to understand the insurance products you have purchased. We want our clients to feel they are in control and making informed decisions.

Barbary Insurance Brokerage
Jerry Becerra has been a licensed property and casualty insurance agent since 1983. He is a native of San Francisco who attended U. C. Berkeley. In 1993 he completed courses to obtain the professional designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. His career began in personal lines insurance sales, but quickly he gravitated to commercial lines account management at a local brokerage. He spent 20 years with Pennbrook Insurance Services, first as an account manager, then as a sales representative and finally as the sales manager.
In 2006 Jerry formed Barbary Insurance Brokerage. His goal was to create an agency that was engaged in the local community and be a reliable resource of expertise and insurance products.
In addition to his insurance career, Jerry does a great deal of community service work. From 1995 to 1999 he served on the board of Mobilization Against AIDS, from May 1996 to January 1999 as Board Chair. From November 1999 to the present he has served on the board of the Golden Gate Business Association, twice as Board President and currently as CFO. He also teaches courses on business insurance for the San Francisco Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, a business incubator program in San Francisco.

Senior Account Manager
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Carlos Arreguin came to San Francisco in the late 1970s and grew up in the Castro area. In 1987 he began a career in building maintenance, working his way up to management. In 2002 he began working for Metro Maintenance, a locally owned janitorial company specializing in large office buildings. There he worked as a manager and safety instructor, doing safety training and gaining experience on Workers’ Compensation issues. Through the owner of Metro Maintenance he was introduced to Barbary Insurance Brokerage and became Barbary’s first employee.
In addition to the management and safety training he received at his prior positions, Carlos has taken courses with the Insurance Educational Association and obtained his license as a property and casualty agent. He continues his education with courses on liability and property coverage as well as industry specific courses on information technology.
When he is not working in insurance, Carlos keeps himself busy with a variety of hobbies. He is an avid gardener, maintaining fruit trees and collecting orchids. He is also a collector, with collections of music, toys and coins among other things. He likes to travel and has an active social life
Personal Lines Manager
Tiffany has over 11 years of experience in all aspects of personal lines products. She began her career working for State Farm Insurance and earning her license in 2003. Tiffany currently holds a CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation as she understands continuing education is essential in the insurance industry. Tiffany is committed to the industry and her goal is to continue to educate herself while delivering exemplary client service.
Tiffany leads with a positive, solution oriented attitude. She and the Personal Lines team will work to provide the right coverage for the right price for your personal insurance needs.
Personal Lines Account Manager
Natasha started her insurance career in 1994 as the receptionist for a family owned agency. She enjoyed learning and earned her license in 1996. Natasha is well-versed in personal line products and policy coverage. She has specialized in residential, auto and umbrella policies for over 12 years.
Natasha’s lively demeanor and spunky sense of humor contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Personal Lines Division.
Personal Lines Account Manager
With a background in the Medical field, Mariah had no insurance experience prior to joining the “PLD” in May, 2012. With an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn, Mariah became licensed in October, 2012.
Mariah’s quirky personality adds a breath of fresh air and clients enjoy working with her very much.
